Get ready for more Batman: Arkham Origins, as WB Montreal has announced new story DLC that will undoubtedly feature one of the Dark Knight's most cold-hearted villains.
After teasing fans on Twitter and Facebook to "save the date" for Dec 31, 2013, Warner Bros. revealed another teaser prior to midnight on New Year's Eve in the form of an invitation to the “Humanitarian of the Year Awards” ceremony, held at Wayne Manor:
Astute fans immediately recalled the famous, Daytime Emmy-winning Batman: The Animated Series episode “Heart of Ice," in which the villainous Mr. Freeze crashes a Humanitarian of the Year award ceremony held in the honor of Ferris Boyle, the man responsible for his icy condition. This pivotal episode was essentially an origin story for Freeze, so it wouldn’t be a far stretch to imagine its use within Batman: Arkham Origins.
Later on New Year’s Day, another Facebook/Twitter update revealed that these teases are for a story DLC due for release sometime this year. The accompanying image leaves little doubt that Batman will be facing off against his icy nemesis:
That's all the info they've released so far, but the post said more details are incoming. Let's hope we don't have to wait too long!
Seeing as the Arkhamverse has kept Dr. Victor Fries’ origins and motivations in line with those found in Batman: The Animated Series, I think it’s safe to say that this downloadable adventure will be quite emotional.
