When Peter Jackson saw the tape of two fans freaking out while watching the new Hobbit trailer, he did what any good director would do: showed the video to the actors and recorded their reactions. Orlando Bloom, Lee Pace, and Evangeline Lilly, in costume, are pulled aside to watch the video. The only thing better than this was watching the trailer itself!
The video starts out on the fans, who are wide-eyed and captivated by the trailer. “That’s an elven stare if I’ve ever seen one,” remarks Bloom.
Panning back, we see the three elves cheering and laughing, both at the fans and at the trailer, which they can hear but cannot see. “That’s me, that’s me!” screams Lilly when the fans say her name.
And when Thranduil can be heard saying, “This is the nature of evil,” Bloom turns to Pace and repeats the line. “You bet it is,” says Pace.
“Go, Lego!” states one of the fans. Bloom laughs and does a small fist-pump, repeating, “Go, Lego!”
“Tauriel is a badass,” said one of the fans. “I sure am a f***ing badass,” Lilly cheered.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug comes out December 13, 2013. Or as one of the fans put it, “I foresaw my future in the winter, as I enter the summer. I foresee into the cold, where I shall be waiting in the frigid, frigid air, for hours upon hours to glimpse Durin’s heir.”
Sure, that might be a bit dramatic. But dramatic and LOTR seem to go hand in hand—in the best way possible.
