Last week, the big news dropped that Disney had gained the rights to produce future installments of Indiana Jones. With that announcement, many hoped that Indy 5 might be right around the corner. Unfortunately, it seems that we're probably in for a wait.
Variety reports that Disney Chairman Alan Horn spoke at the magazine's Dealmakers Breakfast this past week. He confirmed that another Indiana Jones movie is still two to three years off. In fact, Disney has yet to develop the project at all, and the studio is still searching for the right pitch.
“We don’t have a story," Horn said. "We need a story."
That doesn't mean we won't be seeing a new Indy adventure soon, just that Disney will need to find the right idea before the project can get moving.
