This month we got the incredibly huge news that WB was planning another series of Harry Potter films based on Rowling's spin-off book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The films will center around a new character, Newt Scamander, in a story set decades before the original series. As expected, WB has gone on a trademark spree, grabbing the term "Fantastic Beasts" for anything and everything that could potentially relate to their upcoming project.
Interestingly though, Bleeding Cool reports that WB has also scooped up trademarks related to Rowling's other Harry Potter spin-offs: Tales of Beetle the Bard, Quidditch Through the Ages, the character "Whisp" (the fictional author of Quidditch Through the Ages), and the quidditch teams Wimbourne Wasps, Chudley Cannons, Kenmare Kestrels.
Does this mean WB is considering more films set in the HP universe? Particuarly one focused on Quidditch? It certainly sounds like they're leaving that door open.
