Blizzard Introduces 'Hearthstone: Heroes of WarCraft', A Free-to-Play Card Game

When I hearthe words, "Free to Play," that usually piques my interest.  When I hear Blizzard, I drool a little bit.  When I hear "Free to Play" plus Blizzard PLUS card game, I nerdgasm  Then question whether or not this is something that will work.

At PAX this past week, Blizzard announced they would be releasing Hearthstone: Heroes of WarCraft, a free to play card game available on PC, Mac, and iPad.  The game was developed by a team of fifteen, and includes over 300 cards that players can use to wage war against their opponent.  Matchmaking will use Battle.net's services, and attempt to match you with users at similar skill levels.

The trailer, while fancy looking, doesn't reveal anything about the game itself, and what Blizzard has said so far is, honestly, confusing.  Check out the official site and see what you think.

Hearthstone: Heroes of WarCraft is set to be released "not Blizzard soon, but IRL soon."
