James Cameron has created some of the most iconic films ever, but lately he's mostly been known as that guy who's making Avatar sequels. That won't be the case forever though, as Cameron is apparently still intent on adapting Battle Angel. Just don't expect that to happen anytime soon.
According to a report on Coming Soon, Cameron is hoping to tackle the anime adaptation in 2017. Cameron recently spoke at a technology forum called TagDF, where he stated that the story's "themes of trans-human exploration [have] 'haunted' him for years."
This 2017 window would line up with his current Avatar schedule, leaving him room for December 2015 and 2016 releases of Avatar 2 and 3.
