Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Star in the English-Language Version of Miyazaki's Final Film

Joseph Gordon-Levitt will lead the English-language cast for The Wind Rises, iconic director Hayao Miyazaki's final film. The film had an Oscar-qualifying run last month, and has already picked up a Golden Globe nomination and the National Board of Review's award for Best Animated Film.

The Wind Rises follows Jiro Horikoshi (Gordon-Levitt), a young boy in Japan who dreams of becoming a pilot. Due to his poor vision, he's unable to reach his goal, but instead becomes an aeronautical engineer, designing fighter planes that would eventually be used in World War II.

In addition to JGL, the English dub also features actors like Emily Blunt, Elijah Wood, John Krasinksi, Stanley Tucci, William H. Macy, Werner Herzog, and a whole host of others in a fantastic ensemble cast.

The film will be released on February 21 in the US.
