Coming off the massive success of their latest superhero blockbuster, Marvel is being uncharacteristcally candid about their future plans. We previously knew that Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Avengers 2 would make up the studio's Phase Two. Now, Marvel has announced a slate of movies that will take us through Phase Three and beyond, and include some very surprising choices.
Marvel announced that scripts are in the works for a Blade reboot as well as a standalone Ms. Marvel film. Additionally, Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, The Runaways, and Black Panther are also in development. Some or all of these films may end up a part of the studio's Phase Three, alongside the previously announced Edgar Wright's Ant Man movie.
Marvel also stated that there are currently no plans to reboot Daredevil, Punisher, or Ghost Rider, although this may change in the future. Surprisingly though, there are also no current plans to produce a spin-off for Don Cheadle's War Machine.
Farther down in the pipeline, a Nick Fury film could be happening, and the studio hinted towards the possibility of a Black Widow and/or Hawkeye film in the future.
After the tremendous success of Phase One, and the hell of a start Phase Two got, you can be sure there will be many more Marvel movies in the coming years.
