Yes, the highly captivating and incredibly fascinating 2012 film Indie Game: The Movie released some special edition DLC today on Steam. If you weren't even aware that you could buy a movie on Steam, let me back up a little.
Indie Game: The Movie is a film that follows the development behind Super Meat Boy and Fez, but also aspires to take viewers on a journey into the inner workings of the indie game community, and succeeds at that goal, I might add. The movie, aside from being quite entertaining, is also notable for being pretty much the only film you can (currently) purchase on the game distribution platform Steam. Which makes sense when you think about it, given the film's topic.
Released today is a piece of DLC for the movie, possibly the first time that's ever been done for a film, called the Special Edition DLC. This DLC featuers a bunch of extra stuff that supplements the original film, including additional short films, "where are they now" follow-ups and additional commentary, amongst other things.
The DLC is now available on Steam for $4.99 US, or you can pre-purchase the physical 3-disc blu-ray copy of the special edition, which includes the original film and DLC, for $69.99 CAN. Check out a trailer for the DLC below.
