When you're in the mood for brawn, minimal brains, and an apocalyptically stylish Milla Jovovich, only one undying franchise will do. Paul W.S. Anderson (not to be amusingly confused with fellow director Wes Anderson) has confirmed that the 6th installment of the Resident Evil franchise will begin shooting this fall, thus on track for its previously announced September 12, 2014 release date.
Just like the previous 5 films, Resident Evil 6 will follow the continued misadventures of Jovovich's Alice, a superhuman and supermodel-esque killing machine who uses her enhanced skills to survive the zombie apocalypse. Usually, this involves blood-soaked shenanigans with the undead and the evil Umbrella Corporation. Along the way she makes friends, runs into her own clones, and (presumably off-camera) rummages through some pretty swanky thrift stores.
Critics have (shockingly) never been big fans of the always well-dressed Alice and her uber-violent adventures, but the actual box office numbers have made the Resident Evil franchise the most successful film series ever to be based on a video game.
