Scott Derrickson to Direct 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution'

It's been an interesting week for video game to movie adaptations, with Tom Hardy set to play Sam Fisher, and now, more news on the Deus Ex movie. CBS Films has just announced that  Scott Derrickson (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) will direct the adaptation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Derrickson will also pen the script, along with his writing partner C. Robert Cargill (Sinister). Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh are set to produce, with John P. Middleton serving as Executive Producer.

Derrickson commented on the announcement, saying,

"Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence. By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie.  Cargill and I can't wait to bring it to the big screen."

With a director set for the project, we can only hope that more news will follow. Who would you like to see play Adam Jensen? Christian Bale? I would ask for that.
