Undead Labs might be on to something really special with State of Decay. Released early last month through XBLA, the game mixes RPG mechanics with a heavy survival bent and action-oriented combat, all while taking place in a sprawling zombie-infested woodland area. It appears that PC gamers will finally get a taste of what the game has to offer through Steam's Early Access service, albeit with a few enhancements.
According to a tweet by Undead Labs, the PC version will have a higher framerate, ehanced graphics and will also be available in higher resolutions. Maybe the most interesting news about the port is the possibility of adding mods to the game, something that isn't possible on the Xbox 360 version. In an open-world zombie survival game, the potential for some inspired mods is exciting, even if the game won't ship with mod tools.
While there's no official release date for the PC version at the moment, Undead Labs expects State of Decay to be out by the end of the year.
