Thor: The Dark World is showing more and more promise. The first Thor movie starring Chris Hemsworth was damn good, and a lot of comic book fans, myself included, are waiting to see what the sequel will bring. Film adaptations of comic books are tricky enough. Sequels to those films are even trickier.
In the sequel, Thor must face off against an army of Dark Elves from the land of Svartalfheim. This sinister group is led by Malekith the Accursed, played by Christopher Eccleston. I'm intrigued by the choice of the actor. Eccleston was a good villain in 28 Days Later. He was also equally good as his role as the pickpocket who could turn invisible in Heroes. And of course, he was beyond awesome as the 9th Doctor in the TV series Doctor Who. What do you guys think? Is Christopher Eccleston the right choice? Are the Dark Elves a formidable foe for Thor?
Check out the newly leaked set photos, and get a first glimpse Eccleston and his army (sans CGI) below.
