Back in August, Valve ran The International 2, a DotA 2 tournament featuring one of the biggest prize pools in professional gaming history (second only to League of Legends' Season Two Championship). 16 teams battled over the $1.6 million in winnings , and commemorate the event, Valve had a documentary filmed following the participants. The full 20-minute documentary has now been released online, check it out below.
While I was a little dissapointed this didn't turn out to be feature-length, it's definitely exciting to be living on the cusp of mainstream e-sports competitions. $1.6 million is certainly nothing to sniff at, and it's only going to get bigger from here.
