Microsoft's next-gen console is off to a great start, selling 1 million units worldwide in just 24 hours.
"The team is excited to confirm the launch of Xbox One was the biggest launch in Xbox history, with more than one million consoles sold through worldwide in less than 24 hours – surpassing day one Xbox 360 sales and setting a new record for Microsoft," Microsoft wrote in a statement.
"Xbox One is now sold out at most retailers. We are working to replenish stock as fast as possible to meet the unprecedented demand from our customers."
This matches Sony's impressive statistic from earlier this month, putting the two companies neck-and-neck as the next-gen "console war" kicks off.
The Xbox One launched in North America, Australia, Brazil, and certain European regions on November 22. It will be released in Japan and the rest of Europe in 2014.
